Brother created the world's first direct drive sewing machine, and the success of this innovation of adopting the direct drive mechanism saw Brother take the No. 1 spot in the worldwide market for twin needle sewing machines.
Our twin needle series of sewing machines has now been updated and further improvements have been added to maintain its dominant market position.
Good response and smooth sewing*
Operator control is indispensable for lock stitching. The direct drive method provides good response to operator commands and makes it much easier for the operator to operate the sewing machine in the exact way that is intended.
Reduced power consumption and premier energy saving design in the industry*
The direct drive mechanism greatly reduces power transmission losses, and a compact and energy-efficient motor has also been adopted. These innovations result in energy savings of approximately 50% compared to previous models.
Easy-to-understand and easy-to-use operation panel*
The operation panel can be used for settings such as needle up stop and needle down stop settings, and numeric entry of maximum sewing speeds. It makes it much easier to set sewing conditions and reduces setup time.
Sewing articles stay clean with no staining from oil
A dry head mechanism has been adopted which incorporates Brother's leading-edge lubrication-free technology.
Minimum lubrication type and semi-dry type models are also available. Optional parts are also available that allow such models to be adapted to fully dry operation.
Easy gauge part replacement
A cam is used in the adjustment mechanism for the rotary hook base, so that fine adjustments for clearance between needle and rotary hook point can be carried out easily, thus improving working efficiency. In addition, conventional gauge parts can be used without any changes, so that there is no need to purchase new gauge parts as replacements.
Greater range of materials can be used
Previous twin needle sewing machines did not allow the angle of the feed dog to be adjusted, but this is now possible.
In addition, the height of the feed dog can also be adjusted more easily than before.
The amount of thread take-up can be reduced, so that -☐☐3 sub-classes can handle light to medium-heavy materials.
Feed method can be switched to suit the sewing application
All sub-classes are equipped with a function to switch between needle feed and lower feed.
The operator can select the optimum feed method in accordance with the material and sewing process, so that sewing quality can be improved
without any puckering and uneven seams.

Easier handling of materials
The sewing machine arm has been increased to a size which working easier.
The arm pocket dimensions have been increased, so that the materials being sewn can be handled more easily.
In addition, the position of the arm jaw has been raised, so the penetration of the needle is easier to see andsmall articles can be sewn more comfortably.
Excellent durability
The main components of the needle bar and thread take-up mechanism and the spiral gear have all had special surface treatment carried out, and the heat-treatment method for the rotary hook has been changed to increase quenching hardness. These changes dramatically improve the sewing machines' durability.
Easy-to-use bobbin winder device
The bobbin winder device is installed to the top of the sewing machine arm. This makes adjustment of the bobbin winding amount and the removal and replacement of bobbins easier.
Selection from a wide range of model variations
Customers can choose from different models depending on the sewing application, whether thread trimmer isrequired or not, and on the lubrication method, the capacity of the rotary hook and the drive method. This allows the customer to select the optimum combination of features.
