3. Question:

(Ink-jet model) Why my machine’s display is still show “NEAR EMPTY XXXX” after replace new ink cartridge? (‘XXXX’ represents color of the ink cartridge)

Answer:

When the machine’s display show ‘NEAR EMPTY XXXX’, please ready the new cartridge for replacement, and then replace it after the machine display show ‘INK EMPTY XXXX’. (‘XXXX’ represents color of the ink cartridge)

4. Question:

(Ink-jet model) Why my machine’s display show ‘NO CARTRIDGE’ or ‘INK EMPTY XXXX’, also can not print.

Answer:

When the machine’s display show ‘NO CARTRIDGE’ or ‘INK EMPTY XXXX’, there are one or more ink cartridges are empty. To clear the message, you need to replace the empty cartridge.

(Ink-jet model) When my machine ask to replace all cartridges, why I still can not print black and white document after replace a new black cartridge?

Answer:

Your Brother machine is designed to stop ALL printing operations when any of the ink cartridges are empty. This is to ensure the life of the print head and maintain premium print quality. The only way to continue printing is to replace the empty ink cartridge(s).

Printer Smart Tips

1. Question:

(Laser mode) Why the machine’s display is still show ‘CHANGE TONER’ or ‘TONER EMPTY’ after replace a new toner?

Answer:

When the machine asks you to replace a new toner, please replace a brand new toner. Your machine may not detect a used toner.

2. Question:

(Laser model) During software install, I have connected my USB cable, but the installation wizard freeze and keep ask me to connect the USB cable.

Answer:

Please follow the ‘Quick Setup Guide’ to do your software installation, also please do not connect USB cable before software install, that may cause one or more applications/ functions can not be used. Therefore, please ‘repair’ the software by:

-         Disconnect the USB cable

-         Insert the installation CD again

-         Choose ‘Repair MFL Pro Suite’ in selection menu

Answer:

When your equipment requires our service, please provide your machine model no., serial no. and purchase invoice.

Please reset the drum counter after you replace a new drum unit, otherwise, the message will keep showing on display.

Why all fax memories are erased when I restart Brother machine.

If you unplug your machine over than 4 days, then all system setting and fax memories will back to factory default setting.
